- Divorce record
To check your divorce status:
- Visit the nearest NADRA office.
- Carry your original CNIC.
- Request the officials to check your marriage and divorce record.
They will verify your record and inform you accordingly.
- SMS Your ID Card Number to 8009
You can also send your CNIC number to the helpline 8009.
When you send your CNIC number, you receive the record of your family members registered in the system.
- If your wife’s name is still appearing in the family members’ record, it means that your divorce status has not yet been updated.
In that case:
- Visit the NADRA office.
- Carry your divorce certificate issued by the Union Council.
- Request NADRA to update your marital record in the system.
- Apply for a Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
Another important way to check your divorce status in Pakistan is to apply for a Family Registration Certificate (FRC).
The FRC contains the complete record of your family members.
When you receive your FRC:
- If your wife’s name is still appearing in the certificate, it means that your marriage and divorce status has not yet been updated, and you are still showing as married.

After registration, you can view your family members’ details.
